With our rides starting at McShane’s Irish Pub, corporate outings have the chance to enjoy an appetizer, drinks or a full meal before or after your ride.
Let’s take a moment to set the stage for what you can expect at McShane’s for your employees.
McShane’s is an awesome place to hang out. With a whiskey room that includes a pool table and darts, a main dining room as well as an outside patio there is something for everyone’s mood. Lots of groups mosey outdoors and pick up a game of cornhole while enjoying a beer, awash in Detroit sunshine.
Of course, it is a sports bar so if there is a big event, you can catch it on the multitude of TV’s strategically placed throughout the bar.
Due to its extensive space, McShane’s also has the room necessary to host a big group if your corporate outing is more than one or two bikes-worth of people.
Another advantage is simply arriving at McShane’s. With its own lot and attendant, your employees can park in a safe lot, staffed by an attendant. Hear a lot about the trouble of finding a parking spot in Detroit? Well fear not. We got a space for you. Worried your employees will end up paying $30 (or more) in a parking garage blocks and blocks away? That too is a worry to be forgotten about.
Parking in the McShane’s lot costs $10 – but you receive a $10 Gift Certificate that can be applied to your bill at the bar/restaurant – thus making parking essentially free.
For private events, McShane’s has the capacity to fit essentially any size group and is extremely flexible on how it can serve up its food. Here are three examples:

So, what are you waiting for? Create that fun experience for your group.
When I drive for team outings, I’ve noticed that there’s usually one person who really lets loose. You’ll see them dancing in the middle of the bike, singing the loudest, and making sure everybody’s got a full beer in their cupholder. The funny part is that more often than not, somebody usually leans into me, points to that person and says, “That’s my manager.”
Recently on a company ride, I heard two people introduce themselves in the beginning. They said things along the lines of “I’ve seen you around the office.” By the end of the ride, they were laughing, hugging, singing together, and talking about how they need to start hanging out.
That’s what makes a work outing on The Michigan Pedaler special. Teammates can see the more personal side of one another which can lead to a more enjoyable time back in the workplace.
